It's time to talk tournaments for 2010. With Left4Dead 2 and some form of Call of Duty being almost set in stone for this year's event, 1 last tournmanet remains to be named.
We've been holding out on choosing this tournament for a few reasons. With 2 first person shooters being already name we really don't want to have to go with a 3rd. Typically, we like to save that for a real-time strategy game, but let's be honest.... RTS games lately have sucked.
Supreme Commander last year went well, and we may end up going back that way... but with SC2 right around the corner, and Blizzard's latest realease saying "First half of 2010" ... It's slowly becoming the end of that half, and there have been no updates.
With beta invites increasing (even though I haven't gotten one) it's possible that we get a release soon. But with no leaks of the game making its way to packaging and frequent beta updates its obvious they are still working on things.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure somewhere there are 100,000 blank CD's and empty boxes ready to go, but bottom line is the game isn't out yet.
Our sources at GameStop have informed me that the supposed June 1st release date is a filler date and not to be taken seriously. So until then, I ask you post in our forums, and let us know what games you want to play. However, if SC2 manages to squeek out a release before MLP'010, we WILL be running some sort of tournament... busted, imbalanced, broken or not.
